Lighter polymer components for electric vehicles.
Client: AD Plastik, large enterprise
About the project.
Electric vehicles are heavy because of their batteries, and more weight means less range and higher energy consumption. The project tackles this by developing lighter polymer body parts.
The goal is two innovations: a structural polymer door frame and an integrated lighting system. The expected result is around 55% lower weight of these components with greater road safety.
The target group is global vehicle manufacturers. The project brings industry and science together and contributes to the EU's climate goals.
Our approach.
- We shaped the project from idea to application: development path, partners, budget and evidence.
- We prepared the application and the complete documentation for the consortium.
- We run the implementation: reports, costs and communication with the implementing body.
Result.
€1.99 million in grants approved. The project is under implementation.
Results of previous projects are no guarantee for a new application. The competent authority decides on the award.
